Rock Climbing Adventure
Raven’s Roost – Shenandoah Valley

We will arrange a day (weather dependent) – between May and October
Meet up in the morning and travel to a local climbing site
Familiarize with equipment and procedures – have fun learning/refreshing skills
Top-Rope climbing – We can have several ropes for more climbing time

Several local climbing areas:
Ravens Roost – Angular greenstone rock formations with both challenging and easy terrain – great for beginning climbers – moderate climbs – 30 minute drive
Love Gap – Granite friction climbing – similar to the Flatirons in Boulder CO – more challenging – shorter climbs- 45 minute drive
Hidden Rocks – Blocky rock formations with variety of different holds and difficulties – short climbs – very good for beginners but a little farther away (75 minute drive) and can be crowded
Little Stony Man – West facing granite cliffs with very good climbing and a variety of skill levels – longer exciting climbs – about a 2 hour drive

Private Cooking Demonstration and Tasting
Mike Lund, formerly Executive Chef at Staunton’s Zynodoa Restaurant and Executive Sous Chef of The Inn at Little Washington will come to your home and prepare a multi-course tasting menu for up to six people. Mike will demonstrate parts of the meal, showing some simple restaurant tricks for you and your friends to utilize in your own cooking.
Mike Lund is an adjunct chef-instructor at Stratford University where he teaches aspiring culinarians the ins and outs of Farm-to-Table cooking. Lund also teaches classes at the Charlottesville Cooking School and the historic Wade’s Mill. Most recently serving as Executive Chef at Zynodoa Restaurant in Staunton, Lund is a central figure in Virginia’s local food movement. Having worked on a world-class level for much of his career, Lund brings to the table knowledge and talent that come from years of experience.
